The Chinese government has a unique way of dealing with people who criticize it online. They shoot the messenger.
WIth the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 set for Thursday, China is cracking down on people expressing their opinions. The New York Times reported that the government is blocking sites such as Twitter, Flickr, Microsoft’s live.com and Hotmail. If someone tried to surf to the sites, they would be told that the sites’ servers had dropped the Internet connection.
Blogspot and the Chinese-language version of wordpress.com have also been blocked recently.
